The landscape design that we propose, takes place on a outdoor car park made of asphalt. The square is defined in a triangular urban space. The outstanding architecture of Sainte Jeanne d’Arc Church forms the focal point of this mineral urban landscape.
The aim of this competition was to build an underground parking in order to free up the space required to create a public space open to citizens. This project is the opportunity to design a garden in the heart of the neighbourhood, reinforcing the green corridor of the city of Nice that has been developped over the coming years.
We have reorganized and reduce the streets to reinforce the pedestrian areas and open the view in front of the church square. The square will be densily planted and offer an «oasis of coolness and quietness». We will create a tropical and mediterraneen atmosphere that will resist against urban pollution and heat.Vegetation and raw of trees will take place along the street and will be used as water gardens.
The landscape scene will focus on the Church. Palm trees and a green carpet of grass will follow the axis. The trees will create a canopy. Under the shade we will have some activities like fitness, relaxation, gardening ...
